A Weekend Break in Killarney

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since my last blog post, I'm super busy at the moment with something that'll be revealed really soon! To take a break from the busyness of it all, myself and Kevin booked a last minute trip to Killarney in Kerry last weekend.

We stayed in The Holiday Inn as there wasn't much availability in Killarney that weekend. The hotel was about a 15 min walk from the town centre and because the weather was absolutely amazing that weekend, we were able to take in all the beautiful surroundings. We did a lot of strolling around just admiring the town and also paid a visit to the Killarney Outlet Centre as well as a few shops in the town.

We wanted to just relax and have a chilled weekend and that's exactly what we did. When we go away we always have something on or something to attend, so it was nice to just completely relax and unwind with no time schedules! We'll definitely be back.

Just Touched Down in London Town

So our first trip of 2016 was a birthday trip for Kevin to London! During the Black Friday sales, Ryanair had return flights to London (and probably other places) for €4 per person. No that's not a mistake...I did mean €4!!!! So I got return flights for us both for a ridiculous €8!! We flew from Cork (which we haven't done in SO long and it was so handy!) and arrived in Stansted at around 8 a.m. It was a very short trip as we arrived home early on Sunday but considering the price of the flights, we didn't mind!

We stayed in the Thistle Euston which was less than a 5 min walk to the tube station. It was a perfect location as we were only about a 5-10 min journey on the tube to Oxford St. The hotel was gorgeous and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Since we only had one day there we wanted to see as much sightseeing stuff as possible, without having a jam packed day, so we decided to do the open top bus tour. We booked the Golden Tours hop on hop off bus tour which brought us on a guided tour to all of London's main attractions. We chose to stay on the bus but you can hop on and hop off as much as you like all day. Big Ben and Westminster Abbey were our fav - the architecture is just amazing! It was Kevin's first time in London and he loved it! Afterwards we headed to Oxford Street for some retail therapy!

We had a lovely, though very short, trip and we can't wait to go back again! Let me know what you like to do in London so we'll know for our next trip :)

Hopefully, there'll be many more travel posts on my blog for 2016 :)

Visiting Beautiful Monaco

When myself and Kevin were in Nice, we took a day trip to beautiful Monaco. The scenery is just amazing there and I felt like I was walking around with my mouth open all day. I was constantly grabbing Kevin saying "OMG", "WOW", "I wanna live here", "Look at this" etc. etc. haha!

We explored the beautiful sights of Monaco including the Prince's Palace (myself and Kevin are now in the running of becoming the next Prince and Princess of Monaco...), Monte Carlo and the famous Casino (where we just about stepped inside of the door!). We also had a lovely walk along the marina looking at the amazing yachts in awe and obviously deciding which would be ours to purchase! There was a lot of walking to do but I completely fell in love with the place and when I become the Princess of Monaco, I'll be sure to do a house tour ;) haha!

Trip to Nice, France | May 2015

If you've been following any of my social media (mainly Instagram and snapchat), you'll have seen that last week myself and Kevin spent 5 days in the beautiful French coastal city of Nice. The weather was gorgeous and there was lots for us to see and do so I thought I'd put together a quick blog post all about our trip.

Why did we pick Nice?
I chose Nice at random as a birthday present for Kevin. I've only been to France once (Paris in 2013) and wanted to see more of the country. I wanted to go somewhere that had sun and also places to visit. Kevin's parents had been there last year and loved it and the flights with Ryanair were also pretty reasonable so my decision was made!

Where did we stay?
We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Riveria which was lovely. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our stay there. It was very close to the train station, less than a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street, Avenue Jean Medecin, and only about a 15 minute walk to the beach.

What did we do?
We took a day trip to Monaco (separate blog post coming soon!) which was just simply fabulous! We people-watched and ate ice-creams on the (stoney!) beach, climbed a million (or slightly less) steps near the Castel Plage to see some amazing views over Nice, visited the beautifully scenic Nice "Old Town", visited Cannes during the film festival and played countless games of Spit, Rummy and Switch with our very stylish Minion playing cards!

Where did we eat?
We ate in La Pizza Cresci in both Nice and Cannes - best pizza we've had! We also ate in the Old Town in La Favola, Royal Kashmir where we had an amazing Indian curry, Hippopotamus and also had very romantic meals in McDonalds and Subway haha!

Our Trip to Manchester

When myself and Kevin had our post holiday blues after Florida last year we decided to go on a city break somewhere. We looked around for a while and decided that the price would play a big factor considering we had also decided on going back to Florida in the summer. I looked on both Ryanair and Aer Lingus websites searching for deals and when I came across return flights to Manchester for only €20 each we couldn't say no! We went for four days in May and loved it :) I've decided to this blog post to fill you in on our trip and also give you tips if you're planning on going :) we definitely would recommend it :)

Where to Stay
We stayed in the Ibis hotel on Princess St just off Charles St. We wanted something cheap and cheerful and this was perfect. Very reasonable and a great location. We also found when we were there that Oxford St, Oxford Rd and Picadilly Gardens were also great locations. Picadilly Gardens was the town centre so that would prob be the best location.

Where to Eat
We didn't do anything fancy and ate in Nandos, Pizza Express and then a few places in the Trafford Centre like Subway, KFC and Bar Burrito. On our last day we had breakfast in Weatherspoons which is really cheap and was highly recommended to us before we went. There were a few restaurants in Picadilly Gardens and a good selection in the food court in the Trafford Centre.

What to Do
If you've been following me on instagram or facebook then you saw what we did while we were there. We visited the Trafford Centre (a HUGE shopping centre) which I definitely recommend you check out. It's so big and has a good variety of shops and a really good food court.

We also did the Old Trafford stadium and museum tour which was prob our fav part of the trip. It was very reasonably priced and you definitely get value for money with the guided tour. This is a must if you go!

We did the Coronation St tour too which wasn't as good but still worth visiting. It's a tour of the previous set and you get to walk on the cobblestones which was kinda cool! It's only there until October though.

The world's biggest Primark is in Picadilly Gardens so that is a must see for all of you reading this! I cannot even tell you how big it is! I got lost in there and literally couldn't find my way out it was so big. I didn't get a whole lot there but I'm glad I went.

Picadilly Gardens is a lovely area to walk around in especially on a sunny day where there's lots of people about. There's a nice garden area in the centre by the Manchester Eye ferris wheel which is nice. I will warn you though that there's lots of pigeons around!

Finally, we visited the Arndale shopping centre which was much bigger than we initially thought. The Trafford Centre was defo better but this was great and right in the heart of Picadilly Gardens. It had very similiar shops to Cork but was still worth a visit.

So that was our trip! I will leave you with photos and our vlogs from the trip :) we would love if you would subscribe to our channel as well :)

Travel Updates!

I haven't really done a lifestyle post in a while so I thought this was the perfect time to do one. I absolutely love travelling, it's one of my favourite things to do. I'm always looking at where I could go on a city break and new places to see. Last year I was lucky enough to visit Paris, Turkey and Florida.

I've been really wanting to go away lately but things can be so expensive and this year is not the year for me to be splashing out on trips away. That being said, I feel I NEED (:P) a summer holiday. I would give up most things during the year for me to go away for just 2 weeks in the summer. So myself and Kevin have been sitting down for the last few months (since the day we came back from Florida to be precise!) looking at where we could go. After a huge list we finally decided we both would love to go back to Florida. We had an absolutely amazing time there last year and it has been the best place I've ever been to. There was so much we didn't get to do so we're both really excited to be going back in August :) we're staying in the  Rosen Shingle Creek hotel and I'm so excited :)

Recently, I felt I needed another city break. Myself and Kevin both agreed if we were gonna go on a city break it'd have to be cheap. So I went looking on Ryanair and they had super cheap flights to Manchester. So we booked Manchester for May and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll just be finished year one of my masters and Kevin will just be finished college completely so it's a perfect time to go away :) I've never been there so I'm looking forward to it!

Any suggestions for these trips please let me know!

Florida Fun!

Hey everyone :)

As most of you already know, I was in Florida in September with Kevin :) we had the most amazing time ever. The weather was gorgeous, the place was lovely and we had so much fun in the water park and theme parks. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only thing I could say is that I wish we went longer than 2 weeks. Literally had the most amazing time there and we will DEFINITELY be back (hint hint Kevin!). It was definitely my favourite holiday ever! I don't even go on much rollercoasters and I found that Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure were perfect for me as most of them were 3D rides. Writing this post is almost upsetting me as I wish I was back there right now and not in the freezing cold here in Ireland (a girl can dream!). Anyway, I thought I'd share a few photos of our holiday with you guys. Let me know what you think!

American Beauty Haul!

Hey everyone!

It actually feels like FOREVER since I last blogged (sorry!). Anyway since I got back from America, I was straight back to college and have had literally no time to do anything. I just started a masters and I've so much work to do so that's pretty much all I've been doing. Anyway enough with the excuses haha! Here's a few beauty items I picked up while I was on holidays in Florida. I literally had the best time ever there. It's such an amazing place and everyone's so friendly. I'll put up a random photo post soon so you can see what it was like.

I didn't get as much beauty products as I thought I was going to get. They had loads of the same brands we can get here in Ireland and I wanted to get some stuff that I can't get. Some stuff was more expensive than I was expecting so I just picked up a few cheaper products instead. Let me know what you think or if you've used any of these products before let me know how you got on with them.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in 739 Ticket to Brazil
Everyone knows I love my bronzer! I haven't used this yet but initially when I bought it I thought it was going to be similar to the Essence one I normally use. It's quite pigmented but has a little bit of shimmer which I don't really like so I'm not sure if I'll use it much. I'll definitely use it during the summer though. I got this for $4.49 in Walgreens.

EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet
I've heard so much about this before I went and I couldn't wait to get it but to be honest it's not all that it's made out to be. It's kind of dry and doesn't really spread well onto the lips. It comes out clear which is good for just softening the lips but I don't find it very good for hydrating my lips. I got this for $4.29 in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild 80% Longer Lashes Waterproof Mascara in C143 Very Black
This mascara is actually quite good. I think it's really good for de-clumping your lashes and the smaller brush is perfect for the lower lash line. It was $3.49 in Walgreens.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Shock and Pink Punch
Everyone has literally been raving about these all summer so I was so excited to try them out. I got the pink shock colour as it's quite subtle but still adds a bit of colour. The pink punch is one of my favourite beauty purchases in a while. I love how it's a darker colour but still a lip balm. They taste amazing and make your lips so soft. These were $4.79 each in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild Lipstick in 502A Dark Pink Frost and 511B Nouveau Pink
Saw these lipsticks and debated whether or not I'd get them. Then I saw they were only $0.99 each in Walgreens and that made up my mind fairly quickly! I have loads of bright pink lipsticks and the Nouveau Pink one is pretty much the same as them all but maybe not as dark. The darker colour (Dark Pink Frost) is almost like a darker nude colour. It's quite shimmery and comes out quite light.

Elf Lip Stain in 22121 Pink Petal
I've heard a lot about lip stains but never actually bought one. I saw this one and figured I'd try it out. The texture is weird and it actually felt and tasted like I was drawing on my lips with a marker. The colour itself is actually a nice natural colour and it stays on for so long. It's a good base for a lighter lipstick or a clear lip balm or gloss. However, I found it really dried out my lips. I got it for only $2 in Target.

Elf Liquid Eyeliner in 4203 Black
I don't really use eyeliner that much but as this was only $1 in Target I figured I should just buy it. It's really easy to use, the brush is good and it really stays put which is great when you're out but not so great when you try and take it off haha!

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours Lipstick in 529 Thalia
Ok I am literally in love with this lipstick. It's so much nicer on than it looks. It's such a perfect day-time colour. It's a darker pinky nude colour and it's probably my favourite lipstick ever! I've practically worn it every day since I got it and so many people have admired it. It's a creamy texture and really pigmented. Loving it SO much. It was $3.99 in Target.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blusher in 832E Heather Silk
This is such a pigmented blusher. It has a reddish tone to it that is actually a little dark so I only use a small bit of it. It comes with a little brush that's handy for travelling when you don't want to bring loads of brushes. It was $2 in Walgreens.

Conair 1¼ inch Curling Iron
I've always wanted a medium sized barrel in a curler and when I saw this I knew it'd be perfect. You get bigger, loose curls which was exactly what I wanted. It has different heat settings and heats up really quick. It was $20.99 in Walgreens.

Ok so that's all for my American beauty haul! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Let me know what you think of the products or if you have any questions please let me know. Have another few posts planned so hopefully they'll be up soon!
